Trump Assiste UFC em Miami Enquanto Vice Lidera Negociações de Paz no Oriente Médio

On Saturday night, U.S. President Donald Trump attended the UFC 327 title fight in Miami, while crucial peace negotiations in the Middle East, led by Vice President JD Vance, were underway. Despite the overlap in schedules, Vance maintained communication with Trump and other officials throughout the discussions.

The talks between the U.S. and Iran, held in Islamabad, concluded without an agreement early Sunday. The primary sticking point was Iran’s refusal to halt its nuclear weapons program. This impasse was highlighted by Trump’s presence at the UFC event, which drew significant media attention. According to the The New York Times, Trump appeared unfazed by the breakdown in talks as he enjoyed the fight, leaving updates to Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

Before departing for Miami, Trump expressed indifference towards the outcome of the negotiations, stating, “It doesn’t matter to me if a deal is reached.” He emphasized the U.S. efforts to keep the Strait of Hormuz open, criticizing NATO for its lack of support. Trump’s comments underscored his administration’s focus on maintaining strategic control in the region, despite the failed diplomatic efforts.

Following the unsuccessful talks, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar urged both Iran and the U.S. to uphold their ceasefire commitments. He affirmed Pakistan’s ongoing role as a mediator, aiming to facilitate further dialogue. The negotiations were already strained by deep-seated disagreements and ongoing Israeli attacks on Hezbollah, an Iranian-backed group in Lebanon.
