In a dramatic escape, two young girls managed to jump from a moving vehicle to flee their stepfather, who had previously assaulted their mother. The incident unfolded on Friday night, March 6, in Fortaleza, leading to the arrest of the suspect by the Military Police.
The suspect, a 36-year-old man, allegedly attacked his wife before abducting her daughters, aged 11 and 14, and fleeing in a car. The police were alerted to the situation and initiated a pursuit after the man ignored orders to stop, causing collisions with other vehicles during the chase.
As the pursuit intensified, the girls bravely opened the car door and leapt out to escape. The police apprehended the suspect in the Montese neighborhood, where he was taken into custody. The man sustained injuries and was transported to a hospital under police watch.
Upon his arrest, the suspect faced multiple charges at the Women’s Defense Police Station in Fortaleza. These charges included insult, threats, mistreatment, and exposing minors to humiliation. Additionally, he was charged with threatening and physically assaulting his wife. The suspect is now awaiting legal proceedings.
